May 30th 2012

Washington, DC – Summer Jam Fest is an annual charity festival, taking place on August 4th 2012, in the heart of the greater Washington, DC area. Orchestrated by high school student, Jonathan Slye of Northern Virginia, Summer Jam Fest is designed to ignite a positive impact throughout the region through music, pop culture, and community.

Summer Jam Fest tries to encompass all styles of music,” Slye says. “Summer Jam Fest is an event that will not only feature fantastic music and an incredible experience for all ages, but also unite the community together for an event filled with purpose.”

Summer Jam Fest will feature skate ramps, rock climbing walls, paintball, and other activities – along with merchandise vendors and meet & greet opportunities with the athletes and artists.

The Charity Benefit Festival will be funded through the support of donations and sponsors. Tickets will be available for purchase at the event’s website. Slye does not want money to hinder anyone from being able to attend the Festival, so over 1,000 Free Tickets will be distributed to low-income communities who would otherwise be unable to attend. Summer Jam Fest is about something more than just music, so in weekends leading up to the Festival we will be conducting service days on the streets of Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC in an effort to spark a positive impact throughout the region.

LIFEHOUSE, taking a break from finalizing their sixth studio album, will be headlining the Main Stage. LIGHTS, MALICE (CLIPSE), SECONDHAND SERENADE, THE ROCKET SUMMER, and Virginia’s own PARACHUTE are also handpicked to round out the Main Stage, among many others. Featured on the side stage will be 10 YEARS, ALL THAT REMAINS, UNDEROATH, RED JUMPSUIT APPARATUS, and many others.
