Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds Impacting Top 40/Hot AC

SS & DB 2

Howard Rosen Promotion (www.howiewood.com) artist Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds are impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with The Long Way.

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds is an eight-piece powerhouse that puts a modern spin on classic soul. The band is led by Arleigh Kincheloe (Sister Sparrow), whose astoundingly powerful voice and sly demeanor make for a spellbinding presence onstage. She is backed by the mighty force of The Dirty Birds, a flock of seven men who masterfully lay down thundering grooves and soaring melodies. While each of the Birds are capable of lighting up the stage with jaw-dropping displays of musicianship, it’s clear they’re focused on delivering the band’s infectious music as a single entity. Simply put, the band’s live show is explosive.

2012 was a breakout year for the eight piece soul/rock outfit Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds. The band closed out the year with two nights of opening for Gov’t Mule, which included a night at the famed Beacon Theatre in New York. They played more than 150 shows in 35 states for the second year in a row, and their high-energy show is in high demand after scorching sets at festivals as Bonnaroo, Mountain Jam’s main stage, the Voodoo Experience, and the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, where they opened for The Avett Brothers.

The year included a number of accolades for the band “ selling out the Independent in San Francisco with Rebirth Brass Band, opening for Fitz and the Tantrums, Counting Crows, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and a three week run with Allen Stone that culminated in an Austin City Limits late night set. In February, they played a Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm’s studios, where they shared the stage with Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule) and Donald Fagen (Steely Dan).

Nosoyo Going For Adds August 5 & 6

Nosoyo

Howard Rosen Promotion (www.howiewood.com) artist Nosoyo is going for adds now.

The members of the band Nosoyo ran into each other at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. After a year of writing, polishing and performing their songs, the moment of spreading the word about their existance has come. Nosoyo is a five-headed group under the leadership of Donata Kramarz, a singer/composer from Bonn, Germany, who has been living in Amsterdam for the past couple of years. The band evolved from Donata’s solo project, which means she is the main songwriter. The musicians’ participation in the arrangements has lead to the logical step of presenting themselves as a band. Nosoyo is part of a young and rising scene in Amsterdam, including bands like Houses, Bombay Show Pig and Ãœber-Ich, the latter of which Donata is also a member of.

The first step is a 10 track album in a style that is not very easy to define: Their sound “ sometimes epic, sometimes intimate “ changes from extrovert to introvert, from dreamy to spooky; sometimes all in one song. The lyrics are about the two main subjects of artists’ all time inspirational sources: Love and death. Nosoyo is not a band that moves within the lines, they use originality and they are keen on experimenting to create their own space in the pop world.

The album was recorded combining digital and analogue techniques, after Nosoyo had been properly prepared by touring through Holland, Germany and Spain. A demo version of their song Close To Me has already been released on the 2011 fall-edition of the famous Mercedes Benz Mixtape, and their song žFrom Now On is featured on the July 2012 edition. Nosoyo’s debut album, called Just before the faint, has been realized in fully independent ways and has been released in direct sell.

Eric Dash Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Eric Dash

Howard Rosen Promotion (www.howiewood.com) artist Eric Dash is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with One More Love Song.

Eric Dash started writing songs when he was 8 years old by taking popular songs on the radio and making his own versions of lyrics and melody. When he turned 13 he started writing music with his guitar.
While his early influences consisted of pop-punk icons such as Blink 182, Eric also listened to John Mayer, the Goo Goo Dolls, Dashboard Confessional, Justin Timberlake to influence his writing.
In his early teens, Eric played in many bands, but when he was 16 his father suffered a severe stroke that sparked Eric’s seclusion and solo career. He recorded his first record with a back-up band in Philadelphia, which was heavily influenced by Something Corporate.
From the age of 16 to 21, Eric had recorded 3 demo albums and worked with numerous industry professionals. His heaviest guitar influences have been John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and Eric Clapton.
In 2012, producer Jack Joseph Puig (John Mayer/Goo Goo Dolls/No Doubt) saw a talent in Eric and worked with him on a new record in Los Angeles titled “My Own Island”. The first single from that EP, “One More Love Song”, released June 25th on iTunes and is now available on Spotify.
