Adam Bevell tells the story of how the Michael Paul Band came to be. He was at the 100th show of U2’s 360 Tour in Nashville, TN. “It has always been my dream to be pulled up on stage to play a song with U2 and to thank them for the music,” he explains. Bevell goes on to say that he brought a sign that read “Blind Guitar Player-Bring Me Up”. At the end of the show, as Bono was leaving the stage, he walked over to the stage’s edge and asked Bevell which song he wanted to play. “All I Want Is You” was his response. Bono asked someone to bring over his acoustic guitar. Watch the incredible performance. Over the next several weeks, Bevell did countless interviews with national and international news and radio stations, including CNN, CBS, and NBC. Bevell wrote a “Hand in the Darkness” about his experience on the Irish Falcon that Bono gave him. From there, the Michael Paul Band was formed. The band’s drummer, Mike Armstrong, is also blind.
