Jonus Preston Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

_MG_8263

Howard Rosen Promotion (www.howiewood.com) artist Jonus Preston is currently impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with Tears in Vain.

Jonus Preston’s foray into music began at 13 after listening to Michael Jackson’s album Thriller. Listening to this album for the first time sparked in him a passion for music and a love for playing the guitar at age 15 and subsequently singing and songwriting a year later. With time, influences such as Hendrix and Dylan could be heard in his own songwriting. Experimentation and his growing obsession with guitar led to his exploration of European Gypsy jazz where he soon formed the all acoustic band the “String Bustin’ Cats,” playing lead guitar and writing music. In addition to releasing their debut album, this collaboration of fellow students played extensively at local restaurants and at small festivals.

After two years of intense jazz study at college, Jonus was asked to join a jazz trio touring through North America, playing at larger festivals including the Montreal JazzFest, SXSW, and Strawberry Folk Festival in California. In 2012 Jonus returned to New York to begin focusing and developing his craft as an independent recording artist. He began working with Misha Piatigorsky, a New York producer/pianist with a longstanding reputation in the music industry, developing a new direction in music and writing.

On December 14th, 2012, America was devastated following the news of the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. In response to this tragedy Jonus felt compelled to write a song Tears In Vain, dedicated to the loved ones lost at Sandy Hook.

Yoni Leviatan Impacting CHR/Hot Radio

Yoni

Howard Rosen Promotion (www.howiewood.com) artist Yoni Leviatan is currently impacting CHR/Hot AC radio with Twentysomething.

The Songs of Yoni project, an outlet for singer/songwriter Yoni Leviatan’s music and musings, has returned with a new helping of tunes that reveal a more focused artist, dishing out catchy grooves with the ease of the professional that he is. Building on his first album, Extra Credit, a debut that was licensed to major TV networks including MTV, CNN, ESPN and PBS, and played on over 200 college radio stations across the US, the Tel Aviv-based artist has recorded a collection of singles that make up his first release in over 5 years. The first album was more of an experiment, in that I didn’t really have any direction as an artist. I was simply testing the waters, and using whatever skills I had as a songwriter and musician to do so. Now I feel like I’m taking a more artistic approach to making music, and I can definitely feel the difference.

There’s no title to this new release, says the Florida-bred musician. They’re just a couple of songs I had written that seemed to go well together, so I decided to record them and put them out there. The way people consume music today I don’t think you even need to make albums anymore other than for the creative challenge. I’m just going to put my ideas out there as they come and let people take whatever they want from it.
When Yoni speaks about consuming content, he’s not just talking theory. His day job is producing social media and digital content for Waves Audio, a Grammy®-winning audio technology company that is known for its role as a pioneer of digital recording tools used in studio and live music productions worldwide. I love working at Waves. I get to manage a huge online audience for an iconic company in the music industry, while living 15 min. from the beach in Tel Aviv, the biggest tech hub in the world outside of Silicon Valley. In addition to his regular activities within the company, Yoni was recently placed out front as the host of Waves’ NAMM Show 2013 Video Coverage, interviewing some of the biggest musicians and engineers in music such as Mike Shinoda of Linkin’ Park and hit-maker Manny Marroquin.
