Christine Storm Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Christine Storm

Christine Storm is impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio with “Chick Flick”.

Christine Storm immediately commands attention. With a robust voice, impenetrable delivery, and bluesy sense of heart, she confidently captivates on her forthcoming full-length debut album. Be forewarned. There’s a seductive and soulful Storm gathering on the horizon right now in Reno, NV, and it’s about to consume listeners everywhere.
Majoring in theater at the University of Idaho, the singer and songwriter began honing her chops early on. She went on to front the band Mansion with longtime collaborator Jerry Spikula and lead countless international cabaret tours. These jaunts would land all over the world from Las Vegas to Greece, placing Christine in front of elite audiences comprised by the likes of Mike Love from The Beach Boys and many more. 2013 saw her unveil her solo debut EP, Storm.
However, the new music properly introduces the powerhouse chanteuse. She spent most of 2014 holed up in Spikula’s new Abby West Studios, also tapping the production and songwriting talents of Grammy Award-nominated writer and producer Frank Greenfield [Rihanna, Beyoncé].
“Musically, I’m all over the map,” she declares. “When you’re on stage every night in the rock cabaret circuit, you have to adapt to whatever audience is in the house. So, you play it all from country to jazz to rock to pop. There’s residue of all those genres in my own style. That definitely shows on the album. I want people to get up and move when they hear me.”
Listeners will undoubtedly move when they hear her first single “Shoulda Woulda Coulda.” A simmering and sharp anthem, the track showcases her vocal prowess and knack for a vivid story.
“It’s about a woman who catches her guy cheating,” she explains. “The right move would be to get rid of him. It’s another touchy subject because we, as women, tend to put our heads in the sand. We don’t want to face this. In the video, the protagonist only wants to remember the good times, so she takes him back. She tells her girlfriends, ‘I just had to let him in to see what he had to say. One thing led to another, and now we’re back together.’ It captures those ups and downs of a turbulent relationship.”
Then, there’s the slinky and sexed-up “Quench Your Soul,” which illuminates another end of the spectrum for Christine. “The song essentially says, ‘I’ll turn your spark back on and make you feel sexy again,’” she elaborates.
“Raining Frogs” from the album directly draws attention to the looming issue of bullying. At the same time, she raises awareness with her Jam for Joy Charity, which raises money for victims. 2015 saw the foundation host its first concert in downtown Los Angeles.
At the end of the day, her music consistently spreads that kinetic energy.
“I want people moving their heads, tapping their feet, and dancing,” she leaves off. “I’ve seen the transformative power music possesses. This is meant to do that. Giving that feeling is my biggest goal. If you need a little energy or want to feel sexy, put on Christine Storm.”
The stage is hers, and she’s going to do big things.

Maggie Garnier Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Maggie Garnier

Maggie Garnier is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “O Holy Night”.

In her debut album, Maggie seeks the deepest reaches of the heart with soul stirring music. With unabashed warmth, she correlates each song with real life experiences. She challenges the listener to heed to the call of God and turn from their old ways. Her artistry appeals to a wide range of audiences. They identify with her every word. Her smile radiates and touch’s their senses.

Maggie has made the globe her mission field. She avidly takes part in outreach ministry in places where she feels the Lord wants her to go. She prefers to minister where Jesus walked when he was among us; in the shelters, the prisons, among people in need. “I want people to be healed”, she shares. “This is why the songs must be life changing. I am satisfied, when the Holy Spirit is moving. I am assured of the presence of God in my music”.

Music has always been a part of her life. She has had the privilege of gracing the stage with some of her most favorite artists, Wintley Phipps and the Heritage Singers, to name a few. They have had a strong influence on her throughout the years. But those who have affected her the most, set the tone for lifelong goals. Introduced to the Lord by her mother, Maggie’s earliest memories of singing are those of her mother teaching her and her elder siblings how to sing. Another is performing with her late sister, who was always ready to push her onto the stage. You can say that, Maggie has been groomed for her solo career by her family ministry, The Nu Creation Singers. Along with her siblings, cousins and close friends, this ministry has enjoyed a career that spanned 22 years. It has helped Maggie to understand the importance, influence and art of Christian music. She is diligent in her responsibilities to develop her craft. Now, that Maggie has emerged from the folds of her close knit family. She stands onstage, on her own, with the might and power bestowed unto her to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yet her family is never far, they are her main support structure. They administer her production, technical and tour support.

Today, she is happily married with 3 beautiful adolescent children. They rely on her to teach them how to sing and to pray. She is awed at this great gift. As a mother, she could not imagine sending her son to die for anyone. Just knowing that God made the ultimate sacrifice on her behalf, always brings Maggie to tears. She is humbled by the gifts of these children and to those she ministers to.

Tiger/Swan Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Tiger Swan

Tiger/Swan is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “We Don’t Need Anybody”.

Tiger/Swan’s first single, the sociocritical “We Don’t Need Anybody”, was mixed in the U.S. at Plyrz Studios, California, by renowned producer/engineer Jim Scott (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Matchbox Twenty). It was named “Track of the day” by GFrock and “Track of the week” by ShoutOutMusic.

The band has been heavily touring Denmark the past year and has been the warm up act for bands such as “Dúné”, “Electric Guitars” and “Mike Tramp (White Lion)”. ”We Don’t Need Anybody” went very well in Denmark, having airplay on the international rock radio station MyRock FM, and helped kick off a tour called ‘ON THE BIG CITY STREETS Tour”. A tour that took them all around Denmark, playing small festivals and acknowledged venues. In the summer 2015 it took them to The States as well, playing seven concerts in four big cities (San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles & Las Vegas). Amongst them a headlining gig at the legendary Whisky A Go Go.

While visiting The States they started a collaboration with the former lead guitarist of Savage Garden and Lifehouse, Ben Carey, and the engineer/producer ”Bobby” Ferrari. This October they’ll be working on songs for the bands debut in Vegas View Studios.

2015 was also the year where the band released their semi-acoustic , 7-track EP called ”Circle Session”. An EP that was recorded in one day – all live, on set, sitting in a circle. No extra guitars, vocals or anything was re-recorded. The EP got great comments around the internet and on the band’s social medias.

Frontman Andreas ponders about the past year: “It’s been massive. We’ve been having a blast. 2014 was all about writing songs and getting the best out there. 2015 has just been busy in every way – writing, performing, recording and everything that’s behind ”the scene”. The tour in USA, the seven concerts, were epic. To get over there and headline Whisky A Go Go was a dream come true. Now we’re just hooked on getting these songs on ONE record and throw it everywhere across the universe.

TIGER/SWAN is currently working on their debut album which they expect to finish in 2015.

Collin Brooks Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Collin Brooks

Collin Brooks impacting Top 40/Hot AC with “Girl Like You”.

It’s like something out of a movie. Reared where the sky is a great expanse of cornflower blue, the grass grows emerald, and steeple posts raised to the clouds like trees branches reaching for glory, Collin Brooks hails from the Great Plains of Texas. In the simple, clean-aired living of Denton, the young singer-songwriter learned to write and strum his guitar. The humble country boy next door was crooning Drake and Bruno Mars on YouTube one day, and on a flight to New York to meet with major R&B producers the next. Act One, Scene One: a new millennial star is born, carrying his personally inspired stories of young love, lived faith, and indomitable hope.

Sweet voiced with a broad range and agile instrument, if the soulful 21-year old wunderkind sounds like church, it’s because he’s been pulpit singing from age 11. Brooks honed his tenor through choirs and the adult worship team at Christian Gathering Church where his father is pastor. By age 17, Brooks had taught himself bass, piano, and acoustic guitar and served as the Minister of Music. It helped his growth that the close-knit Brooks family is steeped in both gospel and secular music, including a back-up singer for Carrie Underwood and a grandmother, Connie Perry, who scored a Nashville hit, “I’ll Be Your Pillow,” with the country act, One Accord.

Taking heart in his family’s rich musical legacies, Brooks began recording himself on YouTube, first singing covers of pop hits like Drake’s “Sooner Than Later,” Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours,” and most famously, Kenny Rogers’ “Lady.” The acoustic homages captured the All American boy’s versatility and influences: the tone of John Mayer, the falsetto of Justin Timberlake, and the soul pop sensibilities of Adam Levin. More than earning a reputation as a talent at John H. Guyer High School, Brooks captured thousands of YouTube fans for his boyish charm and stripped bare, gospel-riffed showcases.

Then through a series of fortunate events, a New Jersey BMW salesman with Texas ties impressed a major New York music management team with shared videos of Brooks. Instantly, Brooks went from being a carefree high school graduate who enjoyed a good NBA game, attending church and hanging out, to flying to NYC to perform, write and record with well-renowned producers.

Still pinching himself, Brooks is crafting intimate originals like the true-life relationship inspired “Juliet” and “Who Knows?” and the fan favorite, “Fly Away,” an inspirational honoring Brooks’ grandfather. Collins is also hobnobbing with artists like The Dream, and creating magic with premium producers such as Kaleb “KQuick” Robbins of Grand Staff (J Cole, Jim Jones) and Grand Karriem “K-Mack” Mack of the Soul Diggaz (Beyoncé, Fantasia). Blown away at what talent, faith, and hard work can do, Brooks is planning the introduction of his voice to the world through a series of promotional tours and spotlight performances in support of his debut release “Girl Like You”.

“I just want to be the best Collin I can be,” says the talented Texan. He’s already well on his way.

The Notion Going for Official CMJ Adds 8/31 & 9/1

The Notion banner

The Notion is going for official CMJ adds with their album, “In Vino Veritas”.

The Notion doesn’t care about standing there and looking pretty. That’s simply not what rock is about. Yes, rock is music..but it’s also a vibe. It’s that feeling you get when you listen to your favorite record. It’s dancing around acting a fool at a live show. It’s connection, love, hate.
It’s sober, drunk, high, low. And it’s real. The Notion’s goal-to keep the vibe of Rock alive.

Catchy hooks, loud guitars, punching bass, aggressive drums..that’s The Notion.
Sure, just a 3-piece, but wasn’t Nirvana, Green Day, Blink-182, and Silverchair just a 3-piece?
It seems the 90’s have had quite the influence on these Notions and they are not afraid to show it.

Raised on anything from punk, grunge, to the classics such as Hendrix and The Beatles..
Mijo, Lauren, and Ronnie have brought their influences together to make up the perfect trifecta.Knowing exactly who they are and where they come from, makes for some good ole fashioned-no bullshit-rock n roll.

The Notion has just poured their souls and emptied their pockets into their first full length album, ‘In Vino Veritas’. Now available on iTunes and www.cdbaby.com/cd/thenotion1
No lube necessary.

Alex Nixon Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

ALEX NIXON (Promo)

Alex Nixon is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “Take You Back”.

Alex Nixon (Alexandra Johansen Nixon) is an 18 year old pop singer born and raised in Yorba Linda California. Singing has always been her passion from the youngest age. She sang in preschool and elementary school choir. But she took up dancing as her first profession early on. From age 9 she began competing for the UCWDC (The United Country Western Dance Council) and by age 15 she won a first place world championship title. Alex decided it was time to focus solely on her music career and retired from professional dancing.

Alex started immersing herself into singing again. She joined the Vocal Ensemble Choir at Esperanza High school, earning her a solo at practically every performance. She began training with vocal instructor Eric Futterer, an understudy of acclaimed vocal coach Seth Riggs. She also started writing and collaborating on original songs with songwriter/producer Jerod Farnes. Together the two wrote her first single “Meant To Be”. A video soon followed. It wasn’t long before an A&R rep came across the video on YouTube and wanted to meet. Alex was then meeting with the biggest major labels!

Alex has been garnering a loyal following since her debut single release. With the right songs now in her arsenal, she has her sights set on releasing an EP this fall and playing more shows. The lead single off the yet untitled EP is called “Take You Back”. “It is a song that can be easily relatable.” Says Alex, “The up and down roller coaster of breaking up and getting back together again. It’s about finding the strength to break that ridiculous cycle and call it quits for good.” Hence the main tagline in the song, “I’m never gonna take you back”.

The sky is the limit for Alex as she is continually fielding offers from record labels and about to embark on a national radio campaign with her incredibly sweet and infectious single “Take You Back”.

Along with the help of renowned underground house producer Renato Patriarca (Bergmann zu Fuss/Minima/Craft Music), they recorded a three-song demo including the track called Teach me how to love you, which immediately caught the attention of well-known Brazilian producer Rick Bonadio, who then signed the duo into his label; Midas Music.

The first single Teach Me How To Love You released only in Brazil, picked up extensive radio and club play and its video garnering over 165K views on Youtube.

AUDAX released their first UK single Ready To Explode in April, along with a sell out tour across the country that was made into a documentary to be launched later this summer.

The new single My Angel, to be accompanied by a full length video and a remix by US producer Riddler (Chromeo/Paramore/Pitbull), is a high octane electro-pop smash destined for heavy rotation around clubs this summer.

Full album to be released on the 18th of September.

EJ Cox Impacting Country Radio

EJ Cox studio

EJ Cox is impacting Country radio with his song “River Town”.

For EJ Cox, music runs in the blood of the family, his great-grandfather, grandfather, and grandmother all played the fiddle, his great-aunt the piano and there are banjo and guitar pickin’ cousins.

EJ began playing music on an old upright piano at about age seven. When he first started performing it was old gospel songs in church, on a front porch in Marianna, or at the lake in Odessa for family and friends. These are great memories for EJ, and times he believes molded his interest in music.

After graduating from Auburn he eventually founded his own band. He was the frontman for this country outfit and played rhythm guitar. “It’s very cool to be able to say my first live show was in Auburn, a place I love deeply and where I went to school. We played at a great little country dive called “The Struttin’ Duck.”

EJ says he is influenced by all good music but feels like many characteristics of his style are owed to artists and writers like Cash, Willie, and John Prine, along with Keith Whitley, Buffett and groups like The Band and Marshal Tucker.

EJ’s writing is sometimes inspired by what he’s thinking about on a particular day or whatever is going on around him or in his life. “I don’t really plan it out, it just happens or it doesn’t”, EJ explains.

EJ currently lives in the foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountains in Santa Barbara, California but spends a lot of his time in Nashville these days. And if you don’t find him there, he is likely in a boat fishing somewhere, playing golf or watching Auburn football. And EJ’s down to earth personality will make you feel like an old friend is on stage.

His upcoming album is his biggest musical accomplishment thus far. “I recently finished recording and I’m pretty excited about a couple of the songs being released to radio and letting everyone give it a listen.”

EJ was in Nashville recently, and was able to debut one of the songs from his album at The Bluebird Cafe. “An experience and a feeling hard to describe, performing a new song in a place with so much history, where so much talent has come through.”

EJ wants to tell his fans thank you for listening and that he hopes they like the new tunes.

Jade Naraine Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Jade -Cause I Cant take missing you art

Jade Naraine is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “Cause I Can’t Take Missing You”.

Jade Naraine is of Finnish and Jamaican descent and born in Toronto, Canada. Always singing and dancing to musical movies as a toddler, Jade began performing at just 9 years old at weddings, events and talent competitions. “I remember going to see Christina Aguilera at a mall signing for her first album, I was only 5. From that day on, I knew I was supposed to be an entertainer, despite all obstacles.”
Specializing in commercial pop tracks, she has written for local bands and artists of all genres, and was recognized by Sony music A&R in early 2013 and Beluga Heights in 2015 for her skills in which she has been actively offering ideas and writing them while maintaining focus on her own launch as a pop singer.
Jade was noticed for her song writing ability by various studios she would record her demo’s at when she was starting out and in 2012, she met top Toronto based music producer Mike D who owned the label Voodoo Records who took interest in her and they began writing. Jade is now in the process of putting the final touches on her Debut album and preparing to accompany other successful artists on US tour this fall, with the majority of dates being held in California and New York City.
Jade’s dedication, drive, entire package and constant way of thinking that she needs to be doing something to move forward every day, push the envelope and be on top of her game will take her very far. Jade is truly a force to be reckoned with who refuses to take no for an answer, it was never an option for her she says, through all tears and sweat. ” With blogs writing that she could be the next Rita Ora or Taylor Swift, she hopes that radio will be supportive and help her get her music to the fans as she has many more songs to come!
Going against everyone and knowing what she was born to do and what made her most happy… instead of attending University,  she took the jobs or gates approach and worked 3 jobs until she could finish some material that she could use to show people what she’s capable of. “It was often very discouraging at times. I was moving very slow and had been working at this since fifteen.”

Ashlynne Vince Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Ashlynne Vince 2

Ashlynne Vince is impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio with “Hands Off”.

The most amazing of musical careers often begin in unusual places. For Ashlynne, born Ashlynne Vince, that place is the open mic night stage at The Urban Steakhouse in Fonthil, Ontario, Canada. In her first ever public appearance, she belted out Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin”” and Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” to a packed room. Ashlynne quickly became a regular at the open mic night and at the age of 14 a local promoter saw the itty bitty girl with the monstrous voice and tapped her to be the main singer in a Taylor Swift tribute show that was set to tour summer festivals in and around Ontario.

When not onstage appearing as Taylor Swift, Ashlynne balanced her time between her schoolwork, her songwriting and performances in and around Niagara and across southern Ontario. Her performances in front of pop audiences, Americana audiences, opera audiences, country audiences, even polka audiences quickly established her as a talent on the way up. In 2011 a panel of celebrity judges, each successful artists themselves, recognized her talents and nominated the still 14 year-old in the Rising Star Of The Year category for the prestigious Niagara Music Awards. She won the category, taking home the coveted trophy at the NMA awards ceremony in the fall of the same year.

By 16, she was also ready to hit the studio and record the music that she was creating. Already making frequent trips to Nashville to perform with a full slate of country artists, Ashlynne chose CTM Studios to record her first project. The ten track CD, Tidal Wave, featured eight of her own songs and was released to rave reviews.

The success of Tidal Wave fueled her drive and, to continue her “music business education,” Ashlynne accepted a fall of 2014 internship at The Tracking Room recording studio in the heart of Nashville’s Music Row to work with respected studio engineer Rebekah Long. It was there that she met Tony Mantor, who was also in The Tracking Room working on a project for his Plateau Music imprint. Taken with the rich tone and angelic falsetto of her voice and songwriting that was well beyond her years, Mantor offered to take Ashlynne back to the studio with a who’s who band of A-list musicians to help her define her direction.

V. Contreras Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

V. Contreras

V. Contreras is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “Feelin’ That”.

An award-winning childhood short story writer, V. (Victoria Wimer Contreras) has won the hearts of Seattle with her rich, soulful voice as a featured vocalist with Seattle Rock Orchestra, Patsy Cline’s Sweet Dreams tribute, McDonalds commercials and the National Anthem at Mariners, Sonics and Seahawks games. Often referred to as the little girl with the giant voice, her rich tone has earned her comparisons to Karen Carpenter and Linda Ronstadt. A type-A songwriter with a historical phobia of sharing her original compositions, V has been a slave to her piano and a pen composing over 40 album contending songs over the past two years. The result unveils a stunning collection of timelessness. Perhaps the most unique aspect is that no one in Seattle has heard her original compositions ever…until now.

The album was produced, engineered, mixed & mastered by Martin Feveyear (Brandi Carlile, Duff McKagan’s Loaded, Common Market, Blue Scholars and the man whom V. refers to as a genius). It features string & horn arrangements by Andrew Joslyn (Macklemore / Passenger String Quartet). The album includes Seattle’s finest musicians: Rebecca Young, Jeff Fielder, Rusty Willoughby, William Stover, Andrew Josyln, Natalie Mai Hall, Eric Padget, Tom Yoder & Craig Flory.

Rob Gillette has been rocking out since 1969, when he got his first guitar by stealing it from his brother who couldn’t play it anyway. After turning to jazz and jazz-fusion in the late 70s, Rob returned to his rock and roll roots founding a series of original art-punk and post-punk bands in the lively DC music scene of the mid- and late 80s. These bands include 86% Hype (with members of cult favorites 9353), The Man Upstairs (with Soul Stew recording artist Mary Hott) and The Prawns. . After his move to California, Rob founded the Fabulous Jammies, playing a combination of originals and covers in venues from the Sonoma Film Festival to various biker bars in the San Francisco Bay area. Katie G Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Katie G

Katie G is impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “Don’t Call Her Cinderella”.

Katie G is a young singer/songwriter from outside NYC. Her unique style of country and pop original songs has given her opportunities to work with some of the best in the music industry. Working with #1 hit songwriter and producer, Zac Maloy (Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry) on her first two EP’s in Nashville has been an amazing experience for the young singer/songwriter.

Born outside of New York City, Katie G grew up in New Jersey. Katie has been singing as long as anyone can remember, using the dishwasher as her stage to anyone who was in the kitchen. At age 7, she graduated to singing in front of a live audience when she performed “December” from Anastasia.

Among her influences, she lists Jana Kramer and Taylor Swift. Kramer’s hit, “Why You Wanna” got her interested in country music. After seeing Taylor Swift perform on “Ellen”, a 9 year old Katie decided that she wanted to pursue music as a career.

Katie frequently sang at the local Community Theater and local open mics, but her first big performance was at a talent show in front of 1800 people. She performed her original song, “Heaven”. In 2014, Katie had the opportunity to perform on social media tours such as Magcon & Digitour. The tour took her to Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Nashville and New York City at the famous Best Buy Theater. Katie recalls playing a show in Springfield, MA where 7,000 people waited in the rain. She holds the title of “Youngest Performer at Digifest”.

Don’t Call Her Cinderella is her next single being released in May of 2015. Co-written by Katie G, Zac Maloy, Graham Colton and Nick Wheeler (All-American Rejects) this song has a fun, upbeat tempo and crosses between county and pop. Recorded in Nashville with band leader and percussionist Miles McPhersen (Paramore/Kelly Clarkson).

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds Impacting Top 40/Hot AC Radio

Sister Sparrow cover

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds are impacting Top 40/Hot AC radio with “Sugar”.

The Catskill Mountains hid rock ‘n’ roll’s best kept secret for almost 18 years.

Then in 2008, singer and songwriter Arleigh Kincheloe said goodbye to her hometown hideaway and moved to New York City to start Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds. In the years since, the group has performed more than 600 shows, released two full-length albums and an EP produced by Randy Jackson (American Idol), and enchanted tastemakers ranging from The Wall Street Journal and LA Times to Glamour, USA Today, and The New Yorker. They have shared the stage with such heavyweights as Gov’t Mule, Dr. John, Trombone Shorty, The Avett Brothers, Counting Crows, and Galactic, and have turned audiences into believers through appearances on the festival circuit at Bonnaroo, Firefly, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Voodoo Music Experience and many more.

On May 19th, the band will unleash their most rambunctious, raucous, and righteous recording to date in the form of The Weather Below, which features the band’s roster of her brother, Jackson Kincheloe (harmonica), Sasha Brown (guitar), Josh Myers (bass), Phil Rodriguez (trumpet), and Brian Graham (saxophones), and Dan Boyden (drums).

So, what is it about this “hard soul collective,” as Arleigh so eloquently puts it, that has engendered such passion from both the press and the people?

“It’s loud, fun, and it’s supposed to make you feel good,” she declares. “That’s the goal.”

Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds accomplish that goal tenfold with a saucy sonic brew of rock, blues, gospel, and soul. In order to perfect that signature amalgam, the band retreated to the iconic Bear Creek Studio (James Brown, Eric Clapton), just outside Seattle, WA. Locked in the studio for three weeks, they worked closely with producer Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Vance Joy) and cooked up ten irresistible anthems.

“In the past, we did every other record while we were still on the road,” says Arleigh. “This time, we blocked out time to immerse ourselves in the recording process. We lived at the studio and worked for 15 hours a day. Ryan was everything I’d hoped for. He saw my vision and added his own flavor. Plus, the studio is so beautiful. We were in a barn in the woods, which was very reminiscent of the Catskill Mountains for me. I felt right at home.”

Ultimately, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds stand poised to shake up rock ‘n’ roll all around the world. “This all stems back to why I loved performing and singing to begin with,” Arleigh leaves off. “I want to make crowds happy and see them smile and dance. Singing brings me so much joy. I hope our music does the same for everyone.”

Mumford and Sons Criticize Tidal

The newly electric rockers Mumford and Sons were not asked to join Tidal. Even if they had, the band would have turned it down.

Frontman Marcus Mumford explains, “I think smaller bands should get paid more for it. Bigger bands have other ways of making money, so I don’t think you can complain,” he argued. “When they say it’s artist-owned, it’s owned by those rich, wealthy artists…I don’t want to align myself with Spotify, Beats, Tidal, or whatever. We want people to listen to our music in their most comfortable way, and if they’re not up for paying for it, I don’t really care.”

For more on what the band say on Tidal, go here.

Apple Wants Taylor Swift, Florence + The Machine

Taylor Swift pulled her music from Spotify and some of it turned up on Tidal (though 1989 is not available on either). Apple is reportedly pursuing her for exclusive rights to the album. The company also wants Florence + the Machine, whose new album is available next month. Apple is allegedly looking at a dozen other artists to get involved with Beats Music.

There is also a rumor that Apple went after Kanye, offering him $1 million, but he chose to go with Tidal instead.
